Popular singer and actor Rishabh Tandon, known to fans by his stage name Faqeer, passed away in Delhi on Wednesday, October 22, following a heart attack. The news was confirmed by a family source to NDTV. The 35-year-old artist, who lived in Mumbai with his wife, actor-model Olesya Nedobegova, was in the capital to celebrate Diwali with his family.
“He died last night after a heart attack. He had been staying in Delhi since August as his father was unwell,” a family member told NDTV.
According to reports, Tandon’s family is in shock and awaiting relatives to perform his last rites. His untimely demise has left the music and entertainment fraternity mourning the loss of a talented performer.
The Journey of a Soulful Musician
Rishabh Tandon carved a niche in independent music with songs like Phir Se Wahi and Ishq Faqeerana, which reflected his deep, introspective style. In a 2020 interview with Times of India, he revealed that he had taken a 10-year break from music to manage his father’s business but returned when he felt an irresistible pull back to his creative roots. His other popular tracks include Yeh Ashiqui and Chand Tu.

A Love Beyond Borders
Tandon met his wife Olesya, who hails from Russia, on the sets of his digital series in Uzbekistan, where she worked as a line producer. The couple didn’t interact during the shoot but reconnected before wrapping up the project a moment that sparked their love story. Tandon proposed to her soon after, and the two got married on January 7, 2023, just months after their first meeting in October 2022.
The singer’s last Instagram post was a heartwarming glimpse into their Karwa Chauth celebrations earlier this month.
A Kind Soul and Animal Lover
Rishabh celebrated his 35th birthday on October 10. Known for his compassionate personality, he was an animal lover who cared for several cats, dogs, and birds.
In the past, Tandon had made headlines due to rumours linking him with actor Sara Khan, after she was spotted wearing sindoor. Sara, however, dismissed the speculation, calling it unfounded.
