Priyanka Gandhi Alleges Centre is Blocking Discussions in Parliament

WAYANAD: On Saturday, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra leveled serious allegations against the Centre, asserting that it is deliberately obstructing open debate in Parliament. Speaking to reporters in Wayanad, the MP claimed that the union government employs various tactics to sidestep discussions and mute dissenting voices.

“I have observed in recent parliamentary sessions that the government’s approach is to avoid debate at all costs—whether by raising issues preemptively to stifle opposition protests or by denying the Leader of Opposition the floor,” Vadra stated.

She further criticized the Centre for stifling the democratic process, describing it as a disheartening development for the nation’s lawmakers. “While the opposition is frequently accused of sabotaging Parliament, it is this government that is, in fact, disrupting the process—a situation that is new and unsettling for everyone,” she added.

Earlier on Saturday, Priyanka Gandhi participated in a District-Level Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the Collectorate in Kalpetta.
