He presented a roadmap for Maharashtra’s development before new entrepreneurs at a session organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Young Indians Nashik Chapter and the Western Region Council. He also expressed his determination to boost Nashik’s development.
The three-day meeting of the CII Young Indians Nashik Chapter’s Western Region Council concluded with a special interaction session with Chief Minister Fadnavis. Nashik Has Huge Potential for Industrial Development
The Chief Minister highlighted Nashik’s significant potential for industrial growth due to its skilled workforce and favorable climate. He pointed out that the city offers great opportunities for both tourism and industrial expansion. Nashik also benefits from the presence of the defense ecosystem due to HAL. While Mumbai’s economic growth has benefited cities like Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the Samruddhi Mahamarg will now accelerate Nashik’s development. He also announced the construction of a Greenfield Road from Nashik to Vadhavan, where India’s largest port is being developed. This will provide a major boost to Nashik’s economy.
Focus on Information Technology and AI
Fadnavis noted that Maharashtra is witnessing a revolution in the IT sector. He stressed that improved connectivity would benefit Nashik, and there will be a strong focus on utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for better outcomes.
The state government has partnered with Google to establish a Center of Excellence. AI is being used in agriculture and the legal sector, creating new employment and business opportunities. New academic courses are being designed to align with technological advancements. Ratan Tata Skill University has trained 10,000 women in this regard. The government is also committed to empowering rural entrepreneurs.
Nashik’s Agriculture Processing Industry a Model for the Nation
Along with industrial growth, the government is also working towards agricultural development. Nashik is known for advanced farming, leading in the production of grapes, onions, and vegetables. The district has established a value-added supply chain, known as the “Nashik Model.” Additionally, Sahyadri Agro has successfully implemented a processing industry model.
The government has launched smart schemes and agri-business initiatives to ensure that farmers benefit from market systems. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 20 lakh houses are being built, benefiting rural areas in various ways, Fadnavis stated.
Roadmap for Maharashtra’s $1 Trillion Economy
India is moving towards a $5 trillion economy, and Maharashtra will play a crucial role in achieving this goal. The state has a well-defined roadmap to reach a $1 trillion economy by 2029. Fast connectivity and robust infrastructure are essential for economic growth. The Samruddhi Mahamarg and the upcoming Shaktipeeth Highway are key projects contributing to this vision.
Maharashtra: The Most Attractive State for Investment
Competition among states for industrial and economic growth is fierce, with 10-12 states performing well. However, Maharashtra remains at the forefront due to its favorable investment climate. The state attracts the highest foreign investment in India, and the government is ensuring that this investment reaches all parts of the state, not just metropolitan areas. Cities like Mumbai, Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nagpur, and even districts like Gadchiroli are witnessing significant investments. Maharashtra has led industrial investments in the first three quarters of the fiscal year.
Fadnavis stated that Maharashtra is a “Model of Governance,” implementing the best policies from across the country. The state is prioritizing sustainable development.
This Year’s Kumbh Mela to be a Blend of Spirituality and Technology
Highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage, Fadnavis cited the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela as an example of unity beyond caste, religion, and differences. He emphasized the need for youth participation in the Kumbh Mela, as it presents opportunities for tourism and entrepreneurship. The upcoming Kumbh Mela in Nashik will showcase a perfect blend of spirituality and technology.
Fadnavis urged the youth to support the administration and government through innovative ideas and entrepreneurship. He pointed out that Prayagraj’s Kumbh Mela demonstrated how new-age ideas can be effectively implemented, and Nashik’s Kumbh Mela can take these innovations even further.
He expressed confidence that the youth will play a vital role in the development of Trimbakeshwar and Nashik during the Kumbh Mela.
Finally, he firmly stated that those disrupting law and order in Maharashtra will not be spared.
At the event, industrialist Deepak Chande shared his thoughts. The conference saw participation from around 200 representatives from Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat.
