Prashant Kishor Mocks Mahagathbandhan’s CM Pick, Says ‘Tejashwi as CM Was No New Announcement’

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Thursday took a sharp jibe at the Mahagathbandhan after it officially declared RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Responding to the announcement, Kishor remarked that there was “nothing new” about it, saying everyone already knew Tejashwi would take the top spot if the so-called “jungle raj” returned to Bihar.

PK Targets RJD’s Leadership
“When power starts slipping away, leaders are ready to say anything. Make not one but five deputy chief ministers how will that change anything? This is hardly a new announcement. Everyone knows that if Lalu Yadav’s jungle raj comes back, his son Tejashwi will become the CM,” Kishor said while addressing the media.

The poll strategist-turned-politician further stated that Bihar’s voters now had a trustworthy alternative in Jan Suraaj. “Soon Tejashwi Yadav will claim he’ll turn Bihar into a golden Lanka. People don’t vote for BJP because they love it; they do it out of fear of Lalu Yadav. This time, people have a strong alternative Jan Suraaj and they won’t make the same mistake again,” he added.

BJP’s Samrat Choudhary Joins the Attack
Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary also criticized the opposition alliance, calling the appointment of Tejashwi Yadav a “mockery of democracy.” “Lalu Yadav announced the CM face of Mahagathbandhan by intimidating Congress and other parties just like he spread jungle raj in Bihar. Now his son, who has a criminal record, dreams of becoming CM. This is a shameful day for democracy,” Choudhary said.

Mahagathbandhan’s Official Announcement
The Mahagathbandhan’s joint press conference, attended by RJD leaders and Congress representatives including Ashok Gehlot and Pawan Khera, formally introduced Tejashwi Yadav as the alliance’s chief ministerial face and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani as the deputy CM candidate.

The RJD-led coalition, which includes the Congress and Left parties, aims to challenge the NDA coalition led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP in the upcoming state elections.
