Modi Celebrates Odisha’s Rich Heritage on State Formation Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the people of Odisha on Tuesday, marking the state’s formation day with praise for its vibrant cultural legacy. In a message shared on X, he highlighted that India cherishes Odisha’s deep-rooted history, literary traditions, and musical heritage, noting that Utkala Dibasa serves as a worthy celebration of these achievements.
Modi commended the industrious spirit of Odisha’s residents, emphasizing that both the central and state governments have made significant efforts over the past year to drive the state’s development forward. He also acknowledged the remarkable contributions of Odia people across various sectors.

Observed annually on April 1, Utkala Dibasa honors the establishment of Odisha as a distinct state in 1936, when it was separated from the Bengal province.
