PM Modi Chairs High-Level Security Meeting With Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh Two Days After Delhi Blast

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) at his residence to review the investigation and security situation following Monday’s deadly car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort. The blast, which occurred near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, claimed 12 lives and injured more than 25 people.

According to News18, the meeting was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, among other senior officials. The CCS meet focused on the progress of the ongoing probe, which has since been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), following suspicion of terror links.

PM Visits Blast Victims at LNJP Hospital

Before the meeting, Prime Minister Modi visited the injured victims at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital and met with doctors and hospital officials to review their condition. “Went to LNJP Hospital and met those injured during the blast in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s quick recovery. Those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice!” the Prime Minister wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The PM’s visit came shortly after returning from his trip to Bhutan. Officials said he was briefed on the status of the investigation as well as security measures being tightened in the capital.

Home Minister’s Firm Directive

Home Minister Amit Shah, who had earlier chaired two review meetings on Tuesday, reiterated that every person linked to the Red Fort blast would be “hunted down” and punished. “Chaired review meetings on the Delhi car blast with senior officials. Instructed them to hunt down each and every culprit behind this incident. Everyone involved in this act will face the full wrath of our agencies,” Shah posted on X.

The explosion occurred around 6:52 pm on November 10 when a Hyundai i20 car exploded near the Red Fort Metro Station. The impact destroyed multiple vehicles and sparked a massive fire in the area. The NIA has since taken charge of the investigation, examining possible connections to terror outfits suspected to be operating across northern India.
