Plane Crash In Ahmedabad : 100 Feared Dead In Mishap, 50 Bodies Recovered, Pilot Gave ‘MAYDAY’ Call before Accident

Ahemdabad : An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner has crashed in Ahmedabad. The flight, carrying 242 passengers, was bound for London. Reports indicate the aircraft failed to even cross the airport boundary before it exploded shortly after takeoff. It has been said that 100 people feared dead in the mishap.

Flight AI-171 took off at 1:38 pm and crashed just two minutes later, at 1:40 pm. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was among the passengers onboard. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, comprising 90 personnel have also been deployed.

The crash occurred near the Air Customs Cargo Office, adjacent to the airport campus. The incident caused a massive plume of smoke to engulf the surrounding area. Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to CM Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home and Police Commissioner. He also assured all help from the central government.

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu expressed sorrow over the tragic incident. He said shocked and devastated to learn about the flight crash in Ahmedabad. We are on highest alert. The Minister added that he is personally monitoring the situation and has instructed all aviation and emergency response agencies to take swift and coordinated action.

The Boeing Dreamliner 787 is a modern, long-range, mid-sized wide-body passenger aircraft designed by the American company Boeing. It is primarily known for its fuel efficiency, comfortable travel experience, and advanced technologies.
