Parliament Monsoon Session Set for July 21-August 12

First parliamentary gathering since deadly Pahalgam incident and subsequent Operation Sindoor military response.

India’s Parliament will conduct its Monsoon Session from July 21 through August 12, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced Wednesday (June 4, 2025). The minister confirmed that a formal proposal requesting the President of India to convene the House has been submitted.

The upcoming session marks the initial parliamentary assembly following the devastating April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives, and the subsequent Operation Sindoor—a military response targeting terrorist installations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir territory.

When addressing queries about opposition party requests, Minister Rijiju emphasized that parliamentary regulations permit comprehensive discussion of all matters during the Monsoon session, as reported by PTI.
