Three More Terrorist Houses Demolished in South Kashmir

In a continued effort to dismantle the terror network following the deadly Pahalgam attack, security forces in South Kashmir demolished the homes of three suspected terrorists on Sunday, bringing the total number of such demolitions to nine since the April 22 incident.

The residences, located in the districts of Bandipora, Pulwama, and Shopian, were targeted as part of a broader operation to curb terrorism in the region. The Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives, predominantly tourists, in the Baisaran meadows, prompted an intensified response from Jammu and Kashmir authorities, who have also detained hundreds of suspected overground workers and supporters.

The ongoing campaign has sparked significant debate among political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah endorsed robust action against terrorists, emphasizing the need for decisive measures. In contrast, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urged authorities to differentiate between civilians and terrorists during operations to avoid alienating innocent residents.

Security forces remain focused on tracking down the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack, with investigations centered on reconstructing the events and identifying the terrorists’ movements in the Baisaran valley. The demolitions are part of a strategic effort to disrupt the infrastructure supporting militant activities in the region.
