Orry and 7 Others Booked by J&K Police: What Happened and Why It Matters

Katra: Popular social media personality Orhan Awatramani, widely known as Orry, and seven others have been booked by the police in Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly consuming alcohol in a hotel situated in Katra, the base camp for the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
According to police reports, Orry and his companions were found consuming liquor at a hotel in the area. An FIR (First Information Report) has been filed against them for allegedly violating the District Magistrate’s (DM) order and for potentially hurting religious sentiments.
The eight individuals booked in the case include Orhan Awatramani (Orry), Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasila Arzamaskina. Anastasila is reported to be a Russian national. They have all been booked under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS).
Reasi Police stated that the group was found consuming alcohol within their hotel premises, despite a strict prohibition on alcohol and non-vegetarian food in the Cottage Suite area of Katra.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Paramvir Singh (JKPS), emphasized a zero-tolerance policy and stated that strict action would be taken against those found to be in violation.

For those unfamiliar with the name, Orry, whose real name is Orhan Awatramani, gained significant internet fame in 2023. He became widely recognized after being frequently photographed with celebrity children and other prominent figures in Bollywood, often striking a signature pose.
Despite not having a background in acting, Orry has become a well-known figure due to his reported lavish lifestyle, his connections with high-profile individuals, and his distinctive presence on Instagram. He has now become a social media sensation and reportedly believes that his destiny is to be famous.
