Operation Sindoor: All About 9 Terror Camps

The Indian military conducted 24 precise missile strikes on nine terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK), targeting key strongholds of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), according to a government press briefing.

In Muzaffarabad, the Sawai Nala camp, situated 30 km inside Pakistan, served as a training hub for LeT operatives. The Syedna Bilal camp in POK functioned as a Jaish-e-Mohammed staging ground, managing arms, ammunition, and training. In Kotli, the Gulpur camp, located 30 km from the Line of Control (LoC), was an LeT base used to train terrorists linked to the April 20, 2023, attack in Poonch and the June 9, 2024, assault on pilgrims.

The Barnala camp in Bhimber, 9 km from the LoC, acted as a logistics center for arms and ammunition. Kotli Abbas, 13 km from the LoC, had the capacity to train 15 terrorists at a time. In Sialkot, the Sarjal camp, just 6 km from the international border, trained operatives responsible for the March 2025 killing of four soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Mehmoona Joya camp in Sialkot was a Hizbul Mujahideen stronghold, orchestrating the Pathankot Airbase attack. In Muridke, the Markaz Taiba camp trained terrorists involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, including Ajmal Kasab and David Headley. The Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur served as Jaish-e-Mohammed’s headquarters, overseeing recruitment, training, and indoctrination.
