On The Eve of Bihar’s Results RJD Leader Sunil Singh Sparks Row, Know What He Said

Patna : On the eve of Bihar’s results, RJD leader Sunil Singh has cautioned election officials in Bihar about the possibility of large-scale Nepal and Bangladesh-like protests if the outcomes were tampered with. The RJD leader said that he had asked all officials involved in counting not to tamper with the public mandate, warning that if they did so, Bihar could witness unrest similar to what was seen in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Addressing party officials and those involved in the vote counting process, he said, Many of our candidates were forcibly defeated in 2020…..I have requested all our officials involved in the counting process that, if you defeat the person whom the public has given their mandate, the same scenes you witnessed on the roads in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will be seen on the roads of Bihar as well. Singh reiterated the party’s vigilance and readiness to contest any perceived irregularities in the counting process.

Singh’s warning comes as the political atmosphere in Bihar remains tense. While most exit polls point to a clear majority for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), at least one predicts a tight contest, with the NDA possibly falling short of the majority mark. The Axis My India exit poll projects the NDA could win between 121 and 140 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan alliance, including the RJD and Congress, may secure between 98 and 118 seats. The majority required in the 243-member Bihar assembly is 122.
