Remark On Politics – Who Can Be The Best Leader? Nitin Gadkari Says ‘One Who Could Fool’

New Delhi : Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, known for his blunt remarks, has sparked fresh debate with his latest comments on politics and leadership. Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Gadkari said, Jo logon ko sabse acchha moorkh bana sakta hai, wahi sabse acchha neta ho sakta hai.

Gadkari remarked that while talking is easy and doing is difficult, he experiences how, in the field he works in, “telling the truth wholeheartedly is discouraged.” Citing a Marathi saying — “Haose, navse, gavse” (everyone has their own styles and motives) — he added that ultimately, the leader who can convince people by fooling them, often succeeds. At the same time, Gadkari stressed the value of truth.

One thing is true though: Lord Krishna has written in the Bhagavad Gita that truth is the the ultimate victor, he said. He also cautioned against shortcuts: There are shortcuts to achieve things — you can break rules, cross a red signal, or jump ahead — but a philosopher has said, ‘shortcuts cut you short. Gadkari said honesty, credibility, dedication and truth are values that always hold importance in society.
