Nitin Gadkari says ‘Jo karega jaat ki baat, usko kass ke marunga laat’ , rejecting caste-based politics

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, known for his forthright remarks, has once again made headlines by rejecting caste-based politics. Speaking at a convocation ceremony in Nagpur, he warned, “Jo karega jaat ki baat, usko kass ke marunga laat,” clearly emphasizing that discussions about caste have no place in public discourse.
Gadkari stressed that his focus remains on serving society, rather than indulging in divisive debates about religion or caste. He affirmed that his commitment to social service is unwavering whether he wins an election, loses one, or even if his ministerial role is at stake, his principles will not falter.
In addressing the nature of political life, the minister stated, “I am in politics, and many things happen here. But I have decided to work in my own way. I am not worried about who will vote for me.” Despite advice from some peers to refrain from making such bold statements, he stood firm, asserting that a setback in politics would never force him to abandon his core values.
Gadkari also highlighted the transformative power of education in uplifting communities. He recounted his decision, as a Member of the Legislative Council, to reassign the approval of an engineering college to the Anjuman-e-Islam Institute in Nagpur. According to him, the institute was in greater need, and by empowering the Muslim community through education, the entire nation stands to benefit.
Recalling the legacy of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, he added, “If more engineers, IPS officers, and IAS officers come from the Muslim community, then society as a whole will progress.” He noted that thousands of students have already become engineers under the Anjuman-e-Islam banner, reinforcing his belief that providing educational opportunities is key to transforming lives and communities.
