Marrying Against Wishes : Parents Kidnap Daughter From In-laws’ Home In Telangana

Hyderabad : A young woman who married against her parents’ wishes was allegedly taken away by her family from her in-laws’ residence in Hyderabad’s Narsampally village on Wednesday. A video of the incident is going viral on social media. The couple married four months ago despite objections from the woman’s parents, who reportedly felt the groom did not have a “proper” career. Both families belong to the same caste and are related.

Police said that after the couple returned home following their marriage, the woman’s parents and relatives arrived at her in-laws’ house, leading to an argument. The woman was allegedly pulled out of the house and forced into a car. Her husband and in-laws claimed chilli powder was thrown at them and that they were beaten during the confrontation.

The viral video shows the woman screaming as neighbors rush to help, but her parents continue to drag her away. A kidnap case has been registered against the woman’s parents and four other family members at the Keesara police station.
