Mumbai : The Maharashtra police raided a high-profile rave party late Saturday night in the Kharadi area of Pune, arresting seven people, including two women, and seizing narcotics, liquor, and other contraband from the premises. Among those arrested is Pranjal Khewalkar, husband of Rohini Khadse, the state president of the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) women’s wing and son-in-law of former Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse.
Seized substances include cocaine, MD drugs, weed, premium liquor, and hookahs. The police have confirmed that samples of the narcotics will be tested, and further action will be initiated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The premises are owned by an individual named Bansode. Police conducted a panchnama at the scene and confirmed the attendees were caught red-handed.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, reacting to the arrests, said that he was not surprised as ‘under the current government anybody can be arrested and anyone can be shot at anytime’. Even a person drinking a cold drink can be arrested on charges of drinking liquor; Anything can happen. Police and their machinery act against those who are against BJP and theres no other function of this government, he said.
Raut pointed out that the arrests come after Eknath Khadse spoke against the government. Khadse had been speaking against the Government since past two days and especially against Giriah Mahajan. He had been speaking with evidence and then after that within 24 hours this development happens. The points raised by Eknath Khadse, the issue he raised there has been no inquiry into that but immediately action is taken on his relatives and raids on their house.
