Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Visits Nashik for Kumbh Mela Preparations Amid Nagpur Violence

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the Trimbakeshwar Temple in Nashik on Sunday to review preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2027. During his visit, Fadnavis conducted a detailed inspection of the site to assess the logistics and infrastructure required to handle the millions of expected pilgrims. The focus was on crowd management, security, and improving transportation and sanitation facilities in preparation for the large-scale religious event.

Simultaneously, the state government is addressing the aftermath of the violence that erupted in Nagpur on March 17. The unrest, triggered by misinformation regarding a religious artifact, led to riots and property damage. The authorities have since lifted curfews in several areas, but restrictions remain in some parts of Nagpur. Fadnavis, who also serves as the state’s Home Minister, confirmed that 92 arrests had been made in connection with the violence and assured that stringent actions would be taken against those responsible.

As Maharashtra moves forward with both Kumbh Mela planning and post-violence recovery, ensuring security and maintaining law and order remain top priorities for Fadnavis and the state government.
