Major Administrative Shake-Up in Madhya Pradesh: 44 Officers Transferred

Bhopal – The Madhya Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has executed a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 30 Indian Police Service (IPS) and 14 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The General Administration Department (GAD) issued the orders late Monday night, affecting key administrative and law enforcement roles across the state.

The overhaul includes new appointments for collectors in five districts: Indore, Jabalpur, Katni, Barwani, and Agar-Malwa. Notably, Sudam Khade, previously the Public Relations Officer for the state government, has been named Commissioner of the Jabalpur division. Jabalpur’s District Collector, Deepka Sexena, will now serve as the Public Relations Officer at the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR). In Indore, District Collector Ashish Singh has been reassigned as Commissioner of the Ujjain division, with Indore Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma stepping in as the new Indore District Collector.

Further changes include the appointment of Deepak Singh, former Commissioner of the Indore division, as Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission, replacing Abhishek Singh, who has been moved to the Home Department as Secretary. The reshuffle also impacts the police force, with new Superintendents of Police (SPs) appointed in Ashoknagar (Rajeev Mishra) and Dhar (Mayank Awasthi).

Additionally, new Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) have been assigned to Indore Rural, Chhatarpur, Balaghat, Bhopal Rural, Ratlam, and Sagar ranges. The Additional Commissioners of Police (HQ and Crime) in Indore and Bhopal have also been reassigned. Chhatarpur DIG Lalit Shakyawar and Sagar DIG Sunil Kumar Pandey have been transferred to Police Headquarters in Bhopal, while Balaghat DIG Mukesh Kumar Srivastava has been posted to the State Human Rights Commission.

This extensive reshuffle, as reported, underscores the state’s efforts to realign administrative and policing responsibilities to enhance governance efficiency across Madhya Pradesh.
