Shocking Assassination: Village Head Affiliated with Aam Aadmi Party Killed Amid Festivities

Amritsar – An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-linked village sarpanch from Punjab’s Tarn Taran district was fatally shot by unknown gunmen while attending a wedding at a resort in Amritsar on Sunday.

The attack occurred at the Marygold resort during an ongoing marriage ceremony. Witnesses reported that two young assailants entered the venue and directly targeted Jarmal Singh, firing shots at him in the midst of the event.

Singh sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was immediately taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to accounts from those present, the wedding proceedings were unfolding without incident until the attackers approached from outside, discharged at least two rounds, and quickly escaped the scene. Singh was attending on behalf of the bride’s family, with the groom’s procession arriving from Dinanagar.
