Janhvi Kapoor Voices Outrage Over Fatal Vadodara Accident
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has expressed her strong condemnation of a recent car accident in Vadodara, Gujarat, that tragically resulted in the death of a woman and left eight others injured. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Kapoor shared an impassioned message, stating she was “sick to my stomach” over the incident.
The devastating collision occurred in Vadodara between a car and a two-wheeler. While the driver of the car, identified as Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, has been apprehended by the police, Vadodara Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar revealed that more than three vehicles were involved in the incident, including two active vehicles and one electric vehicle.
“Multiple investigative teams are currently probing the incident,” Commissioner Komar informed reporters on Saturday. He added that authorities are actively collecting evidence from the accident site and meticulously tracking the movements of both the driver and the co-passenger of the involved car. “The individual driving the four-wheeler is in police custody, and the police have successfully tracked the co-passenger’s movements… Further investigation is underway,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the accused, Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, has claimed that he was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He attributed the collision to potholes on the road. “We were ahead of the scooter, making a right turn when there was a pothole. There was a scooter and a car while we were turning right…The car slightly touched the other vehicle, and the airbag suddenly deployed, obstructing our vision, causing the car to go out of control,” Chaurasia stated.
He further added, “We were traveling at 50 km/hour. There were no people around at that time, just a scooter and a car… I had no idea about what happened. I did not attend any party; I had gone for Holika Dahan and was not drunk… Today, I learned that one woman has passed away, and several others have sustained injuries. I want to meet the victims’ families; it is my fault, and I am ready to do whatever they wish…”
