Islam Rejects Terror, Groups Misuse Faith: Owaisi in Bahrain

Bahrain: AIMIM parliamentarian Asaduddin Owaisi, speaking as part of a cross-party delegation headed by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, declared that extremist organizations incorrectly invoke religious teachings to rationalize violence against civilians. He emphasized that Islamic principles firmly reject terrorism, citing Quranic teachings that equate the murder of one innocent individual with destroying all humanity.

During discussions with influential figures in Bahrain, Owaisi stated, “Terrorist groups have rationalized the slaughter of innocent civilians in India by misquoting Quranic passages out of context… this must cease. They have exploited faith to legitimize murder. Islamic doctrine condemns terrorism, and the Quran explicitly declares that taking one innocent life equals destroying entire mankind.”

Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Democratic Progressive Azad Party leader, advocated for enhanced global cooperation against terrorism. Azad remarked, “…International backing is essential across all forums, including the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation)…our goal isn’t to destroy any nation. We want Pakistan to eliminate its terrorist infrastructure and prosecute terrorists…”

During the same discussion, BJP parliamentarian S Phangnon Konyak highlighted Pakistan’s persistent terrorist activities targeting India since independence, requesting Bahrain to pressure Pakistan into accountability.

She emphasized that India’s government has established a firm position and will retaliate decisively if attacked again. “Pakistan hasn’t ceased its terrorist operations against India since partition…We request that Bahrain also step forward and urge Pakistan to accept accountability for its actions…India’s government maintains a clear stance this time…if attacked again, India will strike back,” Konyak declared.

The delegation, under BJP MP Baijayant Panda’s leadership, comprises Nishikant Dubey MP (BJP); Phangnon Konyak MP (BJP); Rekha Sharma MP (NJP); AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi; Satnam Singh Sandhu MP; Ghulam Nabi Azad; and Ambassador Harsh Shringla.

The mission seeks to inform international allies about India’s reaction to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist incident and its comprehensive campaign against transnational terrorism, while conducting diplomatic engagement with leadership in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria.

This multi-party diplomatic mission, comprising seven factions with individual MP leadership, was established to address global disinformation and emphasize India’s absolute intolerance toward terrorism.
