Indigo Jeddah–Hyderabad Flight Diverted to Mumbai After ‘Human Bomb’ Threat; Aircraft Lands Safely

An IndiGo flight (6E 68) from Jeddah to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Saturday after Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received a threat email claiming a “human bomb” was onboard. The email, received around 5:30 am, warned authorities to prevent the aircraft from landing in Hyderabad and alleged a plot referencing a “1984 Madras Airport” style blast.

According to the airport’s complaint, the email claimed “onboard LTTE-ISI operatives” had planned an attack, prompting an immediate virtual meeting of the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee and a decision to divert the flight. A police case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to trace the sender and verify the claims.
