Two Indian Soldiers Killed in Ongoing Kulgam Anti-Terror Operation

Srinagar: Two Indian Army soldiers were killed during a prolonged encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, according to reports. The clash, now in its ninth day, highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region.

The operation began when security forces, acting on intelligence, launched a counter-terrorism mission in Kulgam targeting suspected militants. The engagement led to heavy gunfire, during which the two soldiers lost their lives. The operation remains active, with security forces maintaining a cordon around the encounter site. The area’s dense terrain has made it difficult to swiftly resolve the situation, with intermittent firing reported.

Three terrorists have been neutralized so far, with others possibly still active, though the situation remains dynamic. The soldiers’ deaths underscore the risks faced by security forces, including the Army, CRPF, and local police, in their efforts to combat militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.

The encounter is part of ongoing efforts to address rising terrorist activities in the region.

This incident reflects the persistent threat of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, where security forces regularly confront armed groups. The operation’s outcome remains uncertain as efforts continue to eliminate the remaining terrorists.
