In response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead, the Indian Armed Forces launched a series of precision strikes on Wednesday, May 7, targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes, conducted under Operation Sindoor, reportedly hit nine locations linked to terror activities against India.
According to an official statement, the Indian government described the operation as “focused, measured, and non-escalatory,” emphasizing that no Pakistani military installations were targeted. Authorities stated the action was limited to sites believed to have been used for planning and launching attacks on Indian soil.
Soon after the operation, the Indian Army posted on social media: “Justice is served.” Meanwhile, Pakistan responded with a warning of retaliation, saying it would respond “at a time and place of its choosing,” as reported by news agency AFP.
Tensions between the two countries have sharply increased following the Pahalgam incident. A comprehensive official briefing on Operation Sindoor is expected later in the day.
