Tokyo – Japan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a groundbreaking space collaboration between India’s ISRO and Japan’s JAXA for the upcoming Chandrayaan-5 mission, describing the partnership as a testament to humanity’s advancement in space exploration.

Speaking during a joint press conference alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Tokyo, Modi emphasized that this cooperation represents how “our active participation has gone beyond the limits of the earth and will become a symbol of mankind’s progress in space.”

The Indian leader highlighted the natural alignment between strong democratic nations in creating positive global change. “We agree that as the two largest economies of the world and living democracies, our partnership is essential not just for the two countries but also for global peace and security,” Modi stated, characterizing his discussions with Ishiba as both “productive” and “purposeful.”

Both Prime Ministers issued a joint statement emphasizing enhanced economic and security collaboration between the two nations. Modi declared that India and Japan have laid the groundwork for a fresh phase in their “special strategic and global partnership,” presenting a comprehensive blueprint for the coming decade.

The partnership encompasses multiple sectors, with Modi explaining: “In the center of our vision lie investment, innovation, economic security, environment, techology, health, mobility, people-to-people exchanges.”

A significant economic commitment emerged from the talks, with Modi revealing Japan’s ambitious investment target: “We have set a goal of investment of 10 Trillion Yen from Japan in India in the next 10 years.” The Prime Minister noted that particular attention would be given to connecting small and medium enterprises and startups from both nations.
