Independence Day 2025: BSF Launches ‘Operation Alert’ to Tighten Security on Rajasthan Border

Rajasthan: In the run-up to Independence Day, the Border Security Force (BSF) has rolled out ‘Operation Alert’ along the Rajasthan border, intensifying patrols, conducting drills, and reviewing security protocols to counter potential threats.
BSF DIG (Sector South) M.K. Negi told ANI that the operation began on August 11 and will continue until midnight on August 17. “We are enforcing strict border management and revisiting all our standard operating procedures (SOPs) and drills to ensure readiness for upcoming challenges. This involves rigorous rehearsals and strategic reviews,” he said.
Negi emphasised that on August 15, the entire BSF force will be stationed on the border to oversee security operations. “Our aim is to assess intelligence from across the border, track possible threats, and neutralise them. With advanced surveillance gadgets in place, we gather actionable leads and keep constant watch on activities enabling us to take timely countermeasures,” he added.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently expressed delight over the “phenomenal” public participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, describing it as a reflection of India’s deep patriotic spirit and collective pride in the national flag. He urged citizens to continue sharing photographs and selfies with the tricolour on harghartiranga.com.
The Ministry of Culture echoed this enthusiasm on X (formerly Twitter), noting: “From Kashmir to Lakshadweep and Gujarat to Sikkim, heartwarming images of people proudly hoisting the tricolour showcase the nation’s unbreakable bond with the flag.”
This year, the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative is running from August 2 to August 15, with the government encouraging every household to display the national flag.
