The grieving wife of Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal bid an emotional farewell to her husband at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday, following his tragic death in the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 28 lives on Tuesday.

In a deeply moving video, Lieutenant Narwal’s widow was seen weeping inconsolably as she said goodbye to her husband. With a trembling voice, she stated, “I hope his soul rest in peace. He lived a good life. He made us really proud, and we should keep this pride in every way.” According to news reports, the couple had married just days earlier on April 16 and were on holiday in Pahalgam when the attack occurred.

Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi paid his respects by laying a wreath at Lieutenant Narwal’s mortal remains at the airport, where his body arrived from Kashmir. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also attended to honor the fallen officer and was seen attempting to comfort his distraught wife.

Lieutenant Narwal’s remains will be transported to his hometown in Karnal, Haryana. MLA Jagmohan Anand met with family members there, who were seen weeping and embracing the MLA with folded hands in their grief.

Earlier today, the Indian Navy condemned the attack in a social media post: “Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, CNS, and all Personnel of the Indian Navy are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Lt Vinay Narwal, who fell to the dastardly terror attack in Pahalgam. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this moment of unimaginable grief.
