Head Severed, Limbs Cut Off, Body Bent to Fit in Drum: Meerut Murder Autopsy

The post-mortem of former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput has revealed the gruesome details of his murder allegedly by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, in Meerut. According to the autopsy report, Rajput’s head was severed from his body, both hands were cut off at the wrists, and his legs were bent backward, indicating an attempt to fit the body into a drum. The cause of death was attributed to shock and excessive bleeding.

Rajput was allegedly drugged and then stabbed to death on March 4. His body was dismembered and sealed inside a drum with cement. The perpetrators then went on vacation to Himachal Pradesh, misleading Rajput’s family by sending messages from his phone. The crime was reported to the police on March 18, leading to the arrest of Muskan and Sahil.

Doctors reported that Rajput was stabbed in the heart with extreme force thrice. Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed that Rajput’s neck was severed, and both palms were cut off. The body was cut into four pieces to fit it in the drum, which was then filled with dust and cement. The hardened cement preserved the body, preventing it from rotting and emitting a strong odor.

Muskan and Saurabh Rajput married in 2016 against his family’s wishes and had a six-year-old daughter. Muskan and Sahil had known each other since school and reconnected in 2019. Rajput’s family claimed Muskan neglected household duties and allegedly used drugs.
