Haryana YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Not a “Super Spy,” Police Say as Investigation Finds No Evidence

Hisar, May 24, 2025 – Authorities in Hisar have clarified that travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, recently arrested on espionage charges, is not the “super spy” some media reports have portrayed. According to a statement from the Hisar Police, no concrete evidence has been uncovered linking Malhotra to terrorist organizations or activities, despite her confirmed communications with certain Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).

The investigation, which has drawn attention due to Malhotra’s popularity as a YouTuber with over 3.87 lakh subscribers, revealed that she was in contact with individuals identified as PIOs. However, the police emphasized that there is no proof she relayed sensitive information or had ties to any terrorist incidents. “No evidence has emerged so far indicating that the accused had access to any military, defense, or strategic information,” a Hisar Police spokesperson stated.

Several electronic devices belonging to Malhotra, including three mobile phones and a laptop, have been seized and sent for forensic analysis to further examine her communications. The Hisar Police also noted that Malhotra’s associate, Harkirat, has been questioned in connection with the case, though he has not been formally arrested.

The police have urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified information, stressing the importance of sticking to verified facts. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to analyze Malhotra’s financial transactions and digital records to determine the full scope of her activities.
