Deadly Gas Cylinder Explosion Claims Seven Lives, Including Four Children, in West Bengal

Kolkata: A devastating gas cylinder explosion rocked a residence in Pathar Pratima, located in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, late Monday night, killing seven people, among them four children and two women. The tragic incident, which occurred around 9:30 p.m., left the local community in shock as emergency responders rushed to the scene.

Authorities reported that the blast likely originated from a gas cylinder within the home, triggering a fierce fire that rapidly engulfed the structure. Police suspect the presence of two cylinders in the residence, with the blaze intensified by firecrackers stored inside, which ignited and fueled the inferno.The precise cause remains under investigation, but preliminary findings point to the deadly combination of the cylinder explosion and the subsequent firecracker detonation.
