Man jumps before train with 4 kids after fight with wife

In a devastating incident in Faridabad’s Ballabhgarh, a 36-year-old man and his four young sons, aged three to nine, lost their lives after being struck by an express train on Tuesday afternoon. The man, identified as Manoj Mehto, a daily wage worker originally from Bihar, led his children to the railway tracks and held them in place as the Golden Temple Express, traveling from Mumbai, approached at approximately 1:10 p.m.

According to reports, Manoj told his wife, Priya, that he was taking the children to a nearby park to play when they left their home near Subhash Colony around 12:15 p.m. Instead, he took them to the railway tracks under the Elson Chowk flyover, where they sat for about an hour. Witnesses reported that Manoj purchased chips and soft drinks for the children while they waited. As the train neared, the children reportedly pleaded to be released, but Manoj held them firmly by their arms.

“The train crushed them under its wheels,” said Rajpal, the Station House Officer of the Government Railway Police unit. The motive behind Manoj’s actions remains unclear, leaving authorities and the community in shock.
