Explosion At Firecracker Factory In Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha Kills Four Women, Injures Nine

Amroha: A powerful explosion tore through a firecracker factory in Atrasi village of Amroha district on Monday morning, killing at least four women and leaving nine others (eight women and one man), seriously injured. The blast occurred around 11:45 a.m., causing the structure to collapse and trapping several laborers under the debris.

The factory, which was operating with a valid license, is registered under the name Saifur Rahman, a resident of Bhanda Patti in Hapur district. Local officials confirmed that the deceased were daily-wage workers employed at the site. The victims have been identified as Ruksana and Shahnaz (48), both from Rajabpur village, and Ruma and Pravesh from Papsara village.

As soon as the explosion was heard, residents from nearby areas rushed to the scene and alerted the police and emergency services. Fire brigades and police teams responded promptly, initiating a rescue operation to pull survivors from the rubble. The injured were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem.

Amroha District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats confirmed that a special committee has been formed to investigate the incident. “The situation is under control, and law and order is normal. A thorough probe is being carried out to determine the cause of the explosion,” she said.

Amroha Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand stated that legal proceedings have been initiated and that the cause of the explosion remains unknown. “We are conducting a detailed investigation. Rescue and relief efforts are ongoing, and all necessary support is being provided to the victims and their families,” he said.

Authorities continue to assess the damage while ensuring that all safety protocols are followed moving forward.
