Woman Dies on IndiGo Flight, Forcing Emergency Landing in Maharashtra

An IndiGo flight traveling from Mumbai to Varanasi made an emergency landing at Chikalthana Airport in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after an 89-year-old passenger, Sushila Devi from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, passed away onboard.

Airport officials reported that the flight landed at approximately 10 PM on Sunday due to a medical emergency after the elderly woman began feeling unwell mid-flight. Upon landing, a medical team examined her but declared her deceased.

Following the incident, formalities were completed by the MIDC CIDCO police station, and the flight resumed its journey to Varanasi. IndiGo confirmed that the passenger’s body was sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for further procedures.
