DU Student Sneha Missing in Delhi for 6 Days: No Clues, No CCTV, Police Launch Urgent Search

New Delhi: A 19-year-old student from Tripura, Sneha Debnath, has been missing in Delhi for six days, sparking concern and a large-scale search, according to ANI. Enrolled at Delhi University’s Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Sneha last contacted her family on July 7.
Her parents revealed she hadn’t accessed her bank account for four months and left without taking any belongings. The case grew more puzzling when Sneha told her family at 5:56 AM that she was heading to Sarai Rohilla station with her friend, Pitunia. Three hours later, her phone became unreachable. Pitunia later confirmed to the family that she never met Sneha as planned.
The cab driver who drove Sneha reported dropping her off near Delhi’s Signature Bridge. However, limited CCTV coverage in the area has left police without leads on her movements after exiting the cab.
Delhi police, supported by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), have conducted an extensive search within a seven-kilometer radius, but no trace of Sneha has been found even after a week.
The case caught the attention of Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, who swiftly ordered police to take immediate action to locate the missing student. The Tripura Chief Minister’s Office posted on X, stating, “The Chief Minister’s Office has been informed about the disappearance of Miss Sneha Debnath from Sabroom in New Delhi. Instructions have been issued to the police for prompt and appropriate action.”
