Daughter-in-Law Arrested for Fatally Beating Retired Air Force Officer Amid Property Row in Delhi

A 32-year-old woman has been taken into custody for allegedly assaulting and killing her 62-year-old father-in-law, a former Indian Air Force officer, during a dispute over property in southwest Delhi’s Bindapur locality, authorities reported on Monday.
Police were alerted to the incident via a PCR call at approximately 10:46 am on December 27, reporting a murder at a residence in Mansa Ram Park. Officers arriving at the scene discovered the victim, Naresh Kumar, unconscious on the rooftop of the house.
The suspect, identified as Geeta and married to Kumar’s son Parveen, initially informed police that the elderly man had been attacked and was lying unresponsive on the roof.
Kumar was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead on arrival.

Forensic experts from the crime team and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were summoned to examine the site and collect evidence.
Investigations revealed a persistent conflict between Geeta and her father-in-law regarding the division of family property, which frequently escalated into arguments, according to police sources.
The situation was compounded by the recent death of Kumar’s wife in August, while his son is employed in Hyderabad.
A murder case has been filed under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Bindapur police station.
Geeta was promptly arrested and remanded to judicial custody as the probe continues, police stated.
