The Indian government has confirmed that the software targeted in a recent cyberattack affecting major European airports is also in use at Delhi’s airport. However, officials stated that no operational impact has been observed in India thus far.
The IT ministry issued the clarification following reports of a cyber incident that disrupted services at several European hubs, including London’s Heathrow Airport and airports in Brussels, on Saturday. The disruptions were linked to an attack on the MUSE software, developed by airport service provider Collins Aerospace, which hampered check-in systems and caused significant passenger delays.
In response to the overseas events, Indian authorities conducted immediate checks on domestic systems. “As per our conversation with multiple entities in the country, there is no impact observed so far,” the ministry said. Despite the all-clear, Indian airports have been instructed to maintain a state of heightened vigilance as a precautionary measure.
