Hyderabad : Telangana Jagruthi President K Kavitha on Wednesday handed over her resignation as MLC to the Speaker, a day after she was suspended from the party by her father and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao. Addressing her brother and former Minister KT Rama Rao, she said, I urge Ram Anna to take care of KCR’s health and the party karyakartas, she said.
In a press conference, Kavitha described KCR as her inspiration, crediting him for ensuring justice to Dalits and backward classes in Telangana. She said, Isn’t ‘Bangaru Telangana’ about the welfare of all sections of society? But Kavitha alleged she was targeted by conspiracies within the party. I pleaded with Ramanna, saying false propaganda was being spread against me from within the party office.
When there was no response from my own brother, the working president, I understood the situation, she said. She directly accused Harish Rao of conspiring with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, claiming that when Harish Rao held Revanth’s feet during a Delhi trip, the seeds of these conspiracies were sown.
Kavitha questioned the source of Harish Rao’s funds, alleging that he played a role in corruption surrounding the Kaleshwaram project, used money to keep MLAs under his control, and even plotted against senior leaders like Eatala Rajender, Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, and Vijayashanti.
Turning her ire on J Santosh Kumar, she alleged he exploited state initiatives like Haritha Haram for “personal image-building,” misled celebrities through the Green Challenge, and was linked to large-scale villa projects in Mokila. She also held him responsible for a sand lorry accident case in Sirisilla, where seven youngsters were allegedly subjected to police torture.
Kavitha warned her father and brother that Harish Rao and Santosh were people “who wish you harm, adding that only by sidelining them could the party survive. Don’t become a sacrifice to these conspiracies,” she urged KCR. The BRS suspended Kavitha on Tuesday after she openly accused Harish Rao and ex-MP J Santosh Kumar of conspiring against her father and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The party said her actions went against its policies and principles.
