Chhattisgarh Horror: Decomposed Body Found In Raipur Tin Box

Raipur authorities apprehend two suspects after gruesome discovery of victim's body sealed in suitcase and concealed in trunk

Law enforcement officials in Delhi have detained a married couple in connection with a brutal homicide case that came to light in Chhattisgarh’s capital city of Raipur. The victim, identified as Kishor Paikra, approximately 40 years of age, was discovered in Raipur’s Indraprastha Colony with his throat severed and limbs bound. According to reports, the deceased’s body had been compressed to fit inside a suitcase, encased in cement, and placed within a large metal trunk before being abandoned in an isolated location. The macabre find was made when local residents detected a strong odor emanating from vegetation near a slum area, prompting them to alert authorities. Daulat Ram Porte, Additional Superintendent of Police, confirmed that Delhi Police have taken into custody two individuals: Ankit Upadhyay and Shivani Sharma, who will be brought to Raipur for interrogation.

The investigation has revealed sophisticated planning behind the crime, with security camera recordings capturing two people transporting the trunk using an older vehicle with fraudulent registration plates registered under a fictitious identity in 2005. Surveillance footage also showed a woman on a motorcycle circling the car, suggesting coordinated involvement in the operation. Forensic specialists believe the perpetrators applied the cement coating to retard decomposition and mask odor, though the smell eventually alerted nearby residents. Investigators successfully traced the trunk’s origin to a retail establishment in the Golbazar Petline district, where a shopkeeper reported that a suspicious young couple had purchased the container early Monday morning, providing crucial leads to authorities.

Law enforcement officials noted that while the exact motivation remains undetermined, preliminary findings suggest it was not related to romantic complications, with one investigating officer stating the crime was not a “love triangle.” The case bears striking resemblance to a March incident in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman and her paramour murdered her spouse, dismembered the body, and concealed the remains in a cement-filled container using similar elaborate concealment strategies. The body, estimated to be two to three days old at discovery and recovered on Monday evening, is expected to yield further details regarding timeline and motive following suspect interrogation and continued investigation by Raipur police.
