CBSE Releases Tentative Schedule for Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2026; Check Key Dates

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled the tentative schedule for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the year 2026. As per the official notification, the exams are slated to be held from February 17 to July 15, 2026, for students across India and at international centres.

The extensive schedule will encompass examinations for Sports Students (Class 12), Second Board Examinations (Class 10), and Supplementary Examinations (Class 12).

Approximately 45 lakh students are expected to appear for the exams, which will be conducted in 204 subjects. The examinees will include students from Classes 10 and 12 from across India and from 26 countries abroad, highlighting the board’s widespread presence.

CBSE stated that alongside the main theory exams, activities such as practical examinations, answer script evaluation, and post-result procedures will be coordinated to ensure the timely declaration of results.

The board explained that the early release of the tentative datesheet is intended to assist students, schools, and teachers in planning effectively. The timeline has been prepared based on the registration data of current Class 9 and Class 11 students from the 2025 academic session.

This proactive approach offers several advantages:

While the final datesheet will be announced closer to the exam period, the tentative schedule provides an essential framework for all stakeholders to prepare systematically for the large-scale examinations.
