In a coordinated effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police recovered a suspected Pakistani drone near the international border in Tarn Taran, Punjab, on Thursday. The operation, led by the BSF’s intelligence wing, resulted in the seizure of a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone at approximately 3:30 pm in an area adjacent to Khemkaran, according to a statement from the BSF.
The BSF reported that the drone likely crashed due to electronic countermeasures deployed along the border. This incident follows a similar recovery on May 14, when BSF personnel retrieved a drone, a pistol, and a packet of suspected heroin in separate incidents along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, based on intelligence inputs.
The BSF’s Punjab Frontier shared details of the operation on X, stating, “In a joint operation, BSF and Punjab Police successfully recovered a Pakistani drone near Khemkaran, Tarn Taran today.” The agency emphasized the effectiveness of their intelligence-driven approach in thwarting cross-border threats.
This recovery comes amid heightened vigilance along the border, with the BSF and Punjab Police maintaining close coordination to counter potential security risks. The incident underscores ongoing efforts to secure India’s borders against unauthorized incursions.
