BREAKING:India Hits Back at Pakistan with Major Diplomatic Actions After J&K Terror Attack

New Delhi: In a forceful response to the deadly terrorist attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian government on Wednesday unveiled a series of sharp diplomatic and strategic measures targeting Pakistan. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) outlined five key actions, calling it a “decisive move against cross-border terrorism.”

Here are the five major measures announced by the MEA:

  1. Indus Waters Treaty Suspended:
India has halted cooperation under the Indus Waters Treaty, which previously allowed 39 billion cubic meters of water to flow from India into Pakistan annually. The longstanding agreement, once viewed as a rare channel of bilateral cooperation, now stands suspended.
  2. Closure of Attari-Wagah Border:
The Attari-Wagah border crossing — a vital trade and travel corridor between the two nations — has been closed with immediate effect, halting both commercial and civilian passage.
  3. Ban on Pakistani Citizens Entering India:
India has suspended all entry for Pakistani nationals, affecting visa issuance and cross-border travel permissions. The ban is indefinite.
  4. Expulsion of Pakistani Military Advisors:
In a significant diplomatic signal, India has expelled all military advisors stationed at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, effectively severing military-to-military ties at the mission level.
  5. Reduction of Pakistan High Commission Staff:
India has directed Pakistan to reduce its diplomatic staff presence in New Delhi from 55 to 30, drastically scaling down the mission’s operational capacity.

These sweeping measures mark a major shift in India’s diplomatic posture and underscore its growing intolerance toward terror emanating from across the border.
