Passengers aboard the Nizamuddin-bound Shridham Express experienced fear and confusion on Sunday after authorities were alerted about a bomb allegedly placed in one of the train’s general coaches, news agency PTI reported. The threat, initially reported to railway officials in Bhopal, triggered enhanced security protocols and repeated inspections as the train traveled from Jabalpur toward Delhi.
The 12192 Jabalpur–Hazrat Nizamuddin Shridham Express underwent multiple station inspections before arriving at Mathura Junction, where a comprehensive search operation was conducted.
Station director NP Singh stated that Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and dog squad teams boarded the train immediately after its arrival at platform number two at 10:02 am to examine seats, baggage, and other sections of the general coach.
Security officials thoroughly searched the compartment for any explosive materials, but the detailed inspection revealed no suspicious items. Officials noted that the alert had specifically identified the general coach, resulting in an intensive examination that caused schedule disruptions.
After authorities confirmed the threat as false, the Shridham Express received clearance to continue toward Delhi. Railway officials reported that investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the hoax alert, which created significant alarm among passengers and railway personnel.
