BJP Govt Will Reduce Everything to ‘ZERO’ Before its Exit, says Akhilesh

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav sharply criticized the BJP-led governments in Uttar Pradesh and at the Centre on Tuesday, accusing them of failing to fulfill their commitments and misleading citizens by rebranding old programs.

Taking to social media platform X, Yadav sarcastically remarked, “Before they become zero themselves, everything around them is turning into zero.” He highlighted how BJP’s “zero tolerance” policy had effectively become meaningless and predicted their “zero poverty” slogan would similarly prove to be another empty promise.

Drawing a historical analogy, Yadav noted that India introduced the concept of zero to the world as a mathematical principle, “not to spread lies among the public.” He stressed that poverty eradication requires concrete actions rather than mere rhetoric, asserting that the BJP government had done nothing substantial to address poverty.

Yadav also criticized BJP’s practice of renaming existing rural development initiatives, such as Ambedkar Village and Lohia Village schemes, suggesting this was an old tactic used to mask their lack of original policies.

He challenged the BJP to fulfill their previous electoral promises, specifically demanding the long-awaited Rs 15 lakh deposit into every citizen’s bank account. Additionally, he urged BJP leaders to visit villages they had previously adopted to assess the ground reality and reminded them of their unfulfilled pledges, such as housing and clean water for every household.

Calling the BJP’s continued misleading promises “deplorable,” Yadav urged the party to stop deceiving the poor.
