Bengaluru : Woman Kills Pet Dog For Tantrik Ritual, Hides Rotting Body In Apartment

Bengaluru : A woman in Bengaluru has allegedly killed her pet dog and kept its decomposing body hidden in her apartment for days, in what appears to be a case of occult ritualistic practices. Triparna Paik, originally from West Bengal, allegedly slit the throat of her Labrador four days ago. She then wrapped the body in cloth and kept it inside her apartment in Mahadevapura.
The disturbing incident came to light after residents complained of a foul stench emanating from the building. When officials from the Bengaluru civic body (BBMP) arrived to investigate, Triparna resisted their entry and even threatened to commit suicide, prompting police intervention.
Triparna, who previously owned four Labradors, had reportedly lost another one four months prior. The apartment was also adorned with photos of deities and puja items, leading to concerns about the ritualistic nature of the act. A post-mortem report confirmed the dog had died approximately four days earlier. Officials noted that the sealed condition of the flat and lack of ventilation had caused the unbearable stench, raising health concerns for other residents. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
