The victim, identified as 28-year-old Rekha, a mother of two, had been married to the suspect, Lokesh, for just three months. Police investigations reveal this was a second marriage for both, marked from the outset by escalating tensions. After relocating to the city, Rekha secured a position at a call center and even assisted Lokesh in landing a driving job there. Yet, their brief union unraveled amid his unfounded suspicions of infidelity; he repeatedly accused her of inappropriate involvement with a male colleague, sources close to the probe.
The tragic incident unfolded early Monday morning at a bus stop in the Kamakshipalya area, where Rekha stood waiting with her daughter to head to work. Lokesh, fueled by paranoia, suddenly appeared armed with a knife. In a frenzied assault, he inflicted around a dozen stab wounds to her body before fleeing the scene, leaving bystanders stunned.
