Atishi Slams Delhi Private Schools for Fee Hikes Under BJP, Demands CAG Audit

AAP leader Atishi accused private schools in Delhi of exploiting the BJP’s rise to power by imposing steep, arbitrary fee hikes. Speaking at a press conference, the former chief minister claimed that schools began significantly raising tuition without oversight since the BJP took control, contrasting this with the strict regulations enforced during AAP’s 10-year tenure.

Atishi said that under AAP, fee increases required government approval, and audits forced schools to refund overcharges, benefiting many former students. She alleged that parents are now inundating AAP leaders with complaints, feeling abandoned by the BJP government as schools continue their unchecked fee escalations.

Challenging Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Atishi demanded a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) audit of private schools’ finances. “If there’s no collusion with the BJP, stop these hikes and conduct a CAG probe only then should fee increases be allowed,” she insisted.
