Owaisi Blames Modi Government for Pahalgam Attack, Cites Intelligence Failure

Asaduddin Owaisi, president of AIMIM, on Wednesday attributed the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam to a failure of intelligence, urging the Narendra Modi government to hold those responsible accountable. Speaking to journalists in Hyderabad, the MP described the assault as more severe and reprehensible than previous attacks in Uri and Pulwama.
Owaisi denounced the attack, in which terrorists targeted innocent people based on their religion, and expressed solidarity with the victims’ families. He called for swift government action to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure support for those affected. “This is a tragic massacre and a clear intelligence failure,” he stated, pressing the Modi administration to evaluate the effectiveness of its counter-terrorism measures.
He highlighted the attackers’ intent, originating from a neighboring country, to sow fear and harm India’s tourism sector, particularly in Kashmir. Owaisi also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The attack, which occurred on Tuesday in the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam, south Kashmir, claimed at least 26 lives, including two foreigners from the UAE and Nepal, and two locals, according to officials. Several others were injured in the violence.
