Shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on Monday, drones were reportedly spotted over Samba in Jammu and Kashmir and Jalandhar in Punjab. The sightings raised immediate security concerns and prompted swift action from Indian defence forces.
Residents in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district, particularly in the Dasuya area, reported hearing 7–8 loud explosions. In response to the developments, authorities imposed a power blackout in the affected regions, including Pathankot, Vaishno Devi Bhawan, and the nearby pilgrimage track.
Footage from Samba revealed red light streaks accompanied by sounds of explosions, as India’s air defence systems engaged and intercepted the unidentified aerial objects.
