NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi came under a bomb threat scare on Sunday after receiving an email warning, triggering an immediate police investigation.
According to ANI, this incident is part of a larger wave of threats across the capital, with several schools and institutions having received similar emails. Delhi Police confirmed that a probe is underway to trace the source of these messages.
Earlier in the day, authorities reported bomb threat emails sent to two schools in Delhi. However, these were later confirmed to be hoaxes.
A Delhi Fire Services official told PTI that the affected schools included CRPF Public School in Dwarka and a Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar. Police teams, along with fire personnel and bomb disposal squads, were immediately rushed to both sites for thorough checks. Nothing suspicious was recovered following the searches.
The spate of threat emails has heightened security concerns across the capital, with police and security agencies maintaining strict vigilance.
