Accused in Sidhu Moosewala Murder Case Transferred to Silchar Jail for Alleged Drug Trafficking Links

Jagdeep Singh, also known as Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, an accused in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala, has been moved from Punjab’s Bhatinda Jail to Silchar Central Jail in Assam. The transfer, which took place on Sunday night, followed intelligence reports and investigations indicating his involvement in coordinating drug trafficking operations from within the prison using mobile phones.
Singh, who has been linked to the high-profile murder of Moosewala in 2022, is facing numerous charges, including over 128 criminal cases since 2012. These cases involve murder, extortion, violations under the Arms Act, and the NDPS Act. Authorities have stated that he maintained international criminal networks, particularly in Canada, the USA, and Pakistan. This prompted the decision to relocate him to a more secure facility to disrupt these illicit operations.
In Silchar Jail, Singh is being kept in a high-security special cell, with heightened security measures in place to prevent any further criminal activities. Officials highlighted that the move is part of efforts to dismantle the network of criminals involved in drug trafficking, which was allegedly being run from inside the jail.
